The Seattle Kraken are no stranger to traveling all around the United States and Canada for their 82-game schedule. Located in the Pacific Northwest, they reside in the Pacific Division, with seven other teams that essentially border the western United States and Canada.

For the 2024-25 season, they have to once again travel a ton throughout the season. But, just how far do they need to go?

The Seattle Kraken have to take to the skies and cover 48,200 miles next season. That is the sixth-most in the entirety of the NHL. That is the equivalent of very nearly rounding the earth twice, as the earth's circumference is 24,901 miles.

Looking at their opponents for next season, it makes sense as to why they are so high up on the list. It also makes a lot of sense as to why four of the top six teams that have to travel the most are from the Pacific Division.

The bulk of their traveling will be against teams that are not in their division, as they are only an average of 638.76 from their division rivals. Against the rest of the NHL, they have the fourth-highest average distances between opponents with a whopping 1705.71 miles.

It will be all of the Metropolitan Division games that will take up a good chunk of those miles. On the opposite side of the country, the Kraken have numerous games against the the New York Rangers, New York Islanders, New Jersey Devils, Washington Capitals, Pittsburgh Penguins, Columbus Blue Jackets, and the Carolina Hurricanes.

What do you think of the Kraken being amongst the league-lead in travel miles next season? Will it help of hurt them?
