After five days off, the Seattle Kraken are back at Climate Pledge Arena to host the Calgary Flames. The two teams have already played each other three times in the month of October, so this game marks the conclusion of their 2026-27 National Hockey League (NHL) season series.

The Kraken beat the Flames 6-1 in both the Flames' home opener and in Seattle's. The Flames battled back and took a 6-2 win on Friday against Seattle. While the Kraken can't complete the sweep of the season series, they still have the chance to win the series.

Storylines

On Monday, Nov. 2, every NHL team debuted their hometown remix jerseys. Each team received a new jersey design, which was an exciting initiative by the league. When the designs dropped, many fans were left underwhelmed, but not Kraken fans. They finally got what they wanted, which was the anchor front and center on the jersey. This game against the Flames will mark the first time the Kraken will wear them as they play.

The hometown remix is not the only debut happening in this game. Newly acquired forward Matthew Wood is set to make his Kraken debut. Wood was recently acquired from the Nashville Predators, in which Seattle sent Shane Wright, who made his debut with Nashville on Tuesday.

Wood has played his entire NHL career so far with the Predators, where he played in 91 games and recorded 34 points. A chance of scenery and playing on the top line alongside Frederick Gaudreau and Chandler Stephenson could help Wood step up his points production.

Joey Daccord is slated to start in net against Calgary. While he hasn't had the greatest performance to start the season, this is a chance for Daccord to get back on track. His last two starts resulted in losses. Daccord entered the game against the Flames on Oct. 30 halfway through, after head coach Lane Lambert pulled Philipp Grubauer. By starting in this game, Daccord gets the chance to help the Kraken close out the season series in a positive light.
