After previously taking a stab at who could be the first member of the Seattle Kraken's retired numbers list, it is time to go even further down the rabbit hole. Now, let's take an "educated guess" at who will be the first Kraken skater to have their name enshrined in the Hockey Hall of Fame.
Again this is just a guess, for the sake of fun. Please do not take this to heart, as this will likely not come to fruition for at least another decade, if not longer.
Who Should Be First?
There are a couple of names, both on the current roster and those that have moved on to other teams that could be the first member of the Seattle Kraken in the Hockey Hall of Fame. Going into their fourth season in their franchise history, it is unlikely that the first member enshrined wont be for quite some time.
The name that jumps off the page to me is the first captain in franchise history, Mark Giordano. After he joined the Kraken for their inaugural season, Giordano was named the captain very quickly. Despite it only lasting 55 games, he was still the captain nonetheless. He will likely be a Hall of Famer once his career is all said and done, and he will technically be the first member who played with the Kraken to be put in the hall.
It is worth noting that since Giordano was traded to Toronto in the 2021-22 season, the Kraken have elected to not name a new captain. It may be a while until we see another player wear the "C" patch again, but there are a few players who could certainly take the mantle.
Outside of Giordano, if he can put up a substantial number of career goals and points as a member of the Kraken, Jared McCann can also be the first one inducted. He has been the best player to wear the Kraken sweater to date, and it doesn't look like anyone is going to upstage him. Unless Matty Beniers or Shane Wright can overcome the pressure placed upon them to surpass McCann one day.
Who do you think should be the first Seattle Kraken skater to be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame?
