The Saddledome might be one of the most iconic National Hockey League (NHL) arenas. The Calgary Flames have had the honor of playing in this arena for the past 43 years, but after the 2026-27 NHL season, the Saddledome will be no longer. Scotia Place, Calgary's new arena, is set to open in fall of 2027, just in time for the 2027-28 season.

The Seattle Kraken will play against the Flames for the third time this month, second in Calgary, on Oct. 30. The Kraken opened their season in Calgary on Oct. 1, where they beat the Flames 6-1. This was also the final score between the two teams on Oct. 4 in Seattle's home opener.

This game on Oct. 30 will mark the Kraken's final game at the Saddledome. The sunsetting of the Saddledome continues the night before Halloween.

The Kraken have a 9-9-2 overall record against the Flames. Of their nine wins over the Flames, the Kraken have won six of them at the Saddledome. While everyone always swears by home ice advantage, the Kraken's overall record at the Saddledome could come in handy for them in this game.

Seattle will try to end October on a good note, playing against the same team they opened their season against on the first of the month. Let's hope the Kraken can close out their last game at the Saddledome on a positive note.
