The 27-year-old hit the free agent market fresh off his second Stanley Cup championship. After winning the cup with the Washington Capitals in 2018, Burakovsky played a pivotal role in the Colorado Avalanche’s first cup championship since 2001. He comes to Seattle with over 600 NHL games played, 93 of those having come in the playoffs. His 2021-22 regular season was his best to date; he put together a career-high 22 goals, 39 points, and 61 points in 80 games. Burakovsky should be a lock to assume a top-six role with powerplay time in his first season with Seattle.
